Ben Fehrmann

Ben earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Kansas and practiced as a senior designer specializing in major public, institutional, and transportation facilities projects for Cannon Design, HOK, and others before establishing his own practice in 2007.

His independent work has ranged from residential projects through public art to consulting for international architecture firms. Public art has emerged as the focus of the practice, but parallel to this work there is ongoing research and development into alternative mechanical energy systems, architecture, building energy systems, building efficiency practices, and low speed fluid dynamics. His work has been honored with numerous awards and extensive publication.

In addition to full time practice, Ben currently teaches a graduate design studio at Washington University in St. Louis and previously taught at The University of Kansas School of Architecture and Urban Design.
